I am the Swisher /Switzer DNA coordinator with several DNA companies including the Switzer-2, or the Swisher and Switzer Family DNA project at Family Tree DNA. We just received a pledge to do a DNA sample of a direct line female descended from one of the daughters that family histories give for Peter and Mary Swisher of WV. Elizabeth Swisher is another daughter and we are looking for another direct line female to provide an additional mtDNA as a corroborative sample. There are two important objectives associated with this testing project to establish the earlier origin and identity of Mary Swisher b. ca 1850 wife of Peter Swisher.
