I have some information on this family. His wife's name was Mariah Haines. She was born about 1829. The children listed in the 1870 census were Sarah, Frederick, Rebecca L., Joseph, and James. The children listed in the 1860 census were Mary J., Frederick, Joseph, and Thomas. Jackson Carder was alive in 1900, and according to the 1900 Hampshire Co., WV census, he was living with John Thomas Starnes and his daughter (Rebecca) Lee. According to personal ancestral files at the LDS site, his father was Abbott Carder, and his grandfather was William Carder of Culpepper, VA.
