Hi Carla,
William Bennett was married prior to marrying Martha and he had a son named Jefferson. William and Martha were married in 1792 had five offspring--Tabitha, Rueben, Sarah, Benjamin and Bennette. They were from Culpeper but may have owned land in Harrison Co. W.VA in 1820. I believe that Martha is the mother to a Burgess and French Carder born out of wedlock prior to her marriage to Wm. Bennett. I do not know if your Daniel is related to Wm. but he may be a nephew, or perhaps a son born to his first wife. The line that I am researching stems from Burgess but I have very little data on him. I believe he married an Elizabeth and left Harrison Co. WVA after 1820 and went to OH. Does anyone have any data on a Burgess and Elizabeth Carder?? Children were Frederick and Joseph?? Thanks, Nancy
