John Carden b Eng d Va "The Proper Tea Service"-Part 3
Mrs. John Carden carefully packed her tea service, piece by piece into a carry-on bag. She hand carried this bag onto the ship and hand carried it all the way across the Atlantic Ocean on that long voyage; lest it get broken or stolen. In the new world, she served her proper tea on her tea service. This tea service was handed down from generation to generation. The teapot ended up with my 2nd cousin Homer McClellan. He was in his 80's when he called my mother looking for a John Carden with a son to continue the Carden line. Homer was childless and wanted to give his teapot to a John Carden. Our branch did not have a John Carden, so Mom told Homer about my 2nd cousin Freddy Carden, an attorney in Nashville,TN. Homer seemed satisfied. Homer, son of Lou, dau of John L., son of Jordan, son of Larkin Carden. Homer had written the genealogy going back to England. Mom asked him to send it to me. She thought he got mixed up because he sent it to my 1st cousin Wilma Jean Cardin Hillard of Knoxville,TN. I have not seen it because she says she lost it. Others did see it prior to it being lost. They were unable to give me any info off of it. Homer has a brother, Victor, still living in 1991 in Texas. He may have a copy of this genealogy. I hope so! The End.
