During my research I have found the name of Robert Cardin/Carden spelled as Clairden, so perhaps they meant
Robert Cardin. Back in those days a lot of people spelled names as they sounded, perhaps due to lack of a good education as we have now. May I ask a question, if you are not sure of who your Leonard Cardin's parents are, is it safe to say that so and so are his parents, would it not be better to say I think they are? Lots of luck on your Cardin/Carden research. Bobbie
