My step-father Henry Ford ASHLEY is the son of Henry Talbot ASHLEY and Tilda Maggie ROTTON, Henry Talbot ASHLEY is he son of James ASHLEY and Martha CHADWICK, Martha CHADWICK is the daughter of Robert CHADWICK and Emiline BUSH, James ASHLEY is the son of Simeon ASHLEY and Lydia THOMPSON, all of the above are from Russell County, Alabama, Simeon ASHLEY married Lydia THOMPSON in Green County, Georgia, Simeon ASHLEY is the son of James ASHLEY and Judith FOSTER, they also came to Russell County, Alabama listed in 1850 census. My step father stumbled into an ASHLEY family bible given to him from his uncle. When we went to photo copy the document it crumbled into bits, but we did get a very good copy before the original self distructed. It has death dates, marriage dates with maiden names and birth dates from Simeon ASHLEY down to my step-father's father. If someone is interested maybe we could share information. My dad has macular degeneration in his eyes so I am left to do all the research. Georgia, Alabama are very difficult to research. By the way several of the ASHLEY daughters married into the CARDEN family.
