Dear Mike:
Clarice "Dorothy" Carden was my Mother.
and Clarence "Dorsey" Carden was her twin brother. They were born to Solomon David (called Sam)Carden and his wife Mary Evelyn (called Mollie)Lassetter Carden on May 8, 1914. They were not born in Coweta County but Carroll County near Whitesburg Community.
They were the 8th and 9th - the last two children born to Mollie and Sam. Mollie died in 1926 with Congestive Heart Failure.
Do you have the other siblings names and birthdates? I can give them to you if you need them.
I did notice in one of the papers that Joyce Bates gave me someone had listed my father's name as Thomas Sawyer. He was Thomas Milton Willis, married to Clarice Dorothy Carden on September 25, 1931.
Mother:(Clarice Dorothy)died December 9, 1984
Dad:(Thomas Milton Willis) died Oct. 14,1982
Their 3 children were:
Nancy Rebecca Anne Willis b. 1-4-34
Donald Milton Willis b.11-8-36 d 7-31-89
Thomas David Willis b. 6-3-44 d. 1-3-82
I married Walter Asbury Howell 7-20-52
He was b. 12-15-31 We have two children:
Walter David Howell b. 4-27-55 married to
Julie Ruth Wiens on 5-11-1996 - no children
and our daughter:
Valerie Ellen Howell b. 4-21-60 not married
P.S. Clarence Dorsey Carden died 1-09-52
He also died with Heart Disease.
