David, i am a little confused by your posts...if you go back to Kathy's post you will see that we were talking Polk County Tn.......not Tucson Az.
my Carden line was in Monroe Co. and then Polk Co. Tn. in the 1840's & 50's then migrated into Murray Co. Ga. and part of them from there into Alabama.
there are different versions of the Carden name....some of them are Spanish but my line as far as i know came from England through Ireland and then into the U.S. after landing in Virginia.
