It is through Nils Haag and Branch Jackson Carden (Much appreciation for all the research, time, and effort you two put into this research!!) that John's parents were James Carden and Sarah DePriest.
Another relatives thinks that John's father was a Henry and had a sister, Laura.
I tend to believe James and Sarah DePriest were parents! It has also been said that John was from Lundenburg (?) County. Anyone know?
Maybe there are some new researchers who have more information, or this information.
It's just strange that no one has passed this information down in the family since John was a mill owner in Halifax County, VA.
