Hi David -
Alphonso was a brother of my ancestral grandmother Betsey Rice, both being children of Stephen Rice and Matilda Allen. I am a Mayflower Society recognized descendant of Pligrim William White, a Stephen Rice ancestor. (Also of Pilgrim Isaac Allerton and Mayflower Passenger Richard More.)
see this link for what I found on Alphonso, posted long ago.

And I and a Wikipedia editor have just created a new Wiki page for William White (he had none) and his son Resolved (my ancestor- who also had no Wiki page) and enhanced the Wiki page for his youngest son Peregrine, who was born on the Mayflower at Cape Cod.
