I spoke with my cousin, daughter of Dock Cardell..her name is BONNIE Cardell-Garrels-Holder, and I just found out that you are her brother, Johnny's son. It is so nice to meet you cousin! She said that you are a very busy person, going to college and working. I have been researching for years and years, and cannot find anything at all on our ancestor, Henry Thomas Cardell who married to Mary Dorena Hamby. (Henry died about 1890 near Waco, Texas) Unfortunately, cannot verify the information that Dock gave...either that Henry came from Ireland or that there is Indian heritage. I believe there was indian blood, since my grandmother, Ella Peacock Cardell and her daughters spoke of times when Mary Hamby Cardell-Lenard, showed them an Indian dance, and also did some indian-style beading. I just cannot prove any of it with documentation.......
I would be most happy to share with you any of my research..and I also have a book written by another cousin named Harry (A. I.) Harrison.....has some information in there on our family. Would need for you to email me, and give me a home address, and I would be MOST happy to send you a copy of that NO CHARGE. Harry asked me to send copies to family members and/or libraries.......he wanted the book out there for those who really are interested.
So email me when you get time, and I will send that to you.
Your Cousin, Nancy Cardell Hough
