Looking to find my family history

I am looking for any members of the Carbajal family that are or were related to Manuel Notha Carbajal. He was born in New Mexico DOB 5/10/1908. He was of Navajo decent. I am trying to locate family records. His father worked for the railroads, so I have been told and lost one of his limbs, therfore he could no longer support his family and the children were sent to an orphanage to be raised. I was told that the orphanage had been burnt down and all records were destroyed.
I know my grandfather had sibilings, only one name I am sure of. His sister was Andrea Salcedo DOB 11/10/1901. They both ended up living in Southern Cal. Manuel Carbajal married Jean Varela. They had two sons, Ruben & Emanuel Carbajal. Any info pls contact me. I am very interested in my Navajo nationality. I could not find any records that my grandfather was registered on the tribal role. Any info would be greatly appreceiated.
