I have a great great grandfather that is listed as John Captain That is considered to be Shawnee. There are some other Captains that are also Shawnee. It is interesting to note that Ojibway and Shawnee are similar linguistically. Our people scattered to the winds during the wars. Migwetch! (Poor spelling attempt)
