Family of Frederick S. & Hepsa (Marchant) Capron - Wisconsin
Posted by: Jane A. (ID *****5620) Date: November 20, 2005 at 18:32:21

The family I am looking into is Frederick S. Capron and his wife Hepsa (Marchant), but especially their son, Ephraim William. Ephraim just “disappears” after his marriage in 1872.

I have dates, but nothing else on the lives of their children.

Frederick, son of Ephraim and Sarah (Hopkins) Capron, was born 14 May 1827 in Vermont, d: 16 Oct 1911 in Chicago, IL.
Hepsa (Hepsey) was born 1 Jul 1827, d: 12 Nov 1902 in Evanston, IL.

They are found in the 1860 census in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa, Wisconsin and for the most part seem to have lived in either Chippewa County or Waukesha County, WI. Toward the latter part of their lives, they moved to the Chicago, IL area.

They had four children (that are known):
1. Ephraim William, born about 1848; married Jane Scott on 10 Aug 1872 in Waukesha, Waukesha County, Wisconsin
2. Ella M., b: abt. 1851, D: 11 Nov 1918, Evanston, IL
3. Edward, b: Apr 1860, d: 27 Nov 1907, Cook Co., IL
4. Nettie, b: 1863, d: 1935,

The parents and daughters are buried in the Merton-Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon Township, Waukesha county, Wisconsin.

It appears that Ephraim was the only child to marry. I am unable to find either him or Jane in the 1880 census.

I'm hoping someone can help with this family and especially with the sons. I’ll appreciate any information regarding this family.

Jane
