Just beginning to research the Capps gang and am a little confused. Hope someone can clear it up for me. Everywhere I look, I see where Mary F. Capps, d/o Samuel and Caroline Capps, married John Coggins. I show she married J. Jackson Kilpatrick. Am I missing something? Like I said I am new to researching this family and might not know the whole story. Here is what I've found to this point.

1880 Red Level, Covington Co., Alabama census:

Kilpatrick, Mary 33 b. GA f/b. GA m/b. GA
Kilpatrick, Samuel 6 b. AL
Kilpatrick, Vilula 4 b. AL
Kilpatrick, Caroline 2 b. AL
Capps, Caroline 60 b GA (listed as mother in law)
Capps, Silas 22 b. GA (listed as brother in law)

Please let me know what I might be missing.

Thank you,
