In Edward Capps' will, proved 6 Dec 1802 in Lynhaven Princess Anne County, he devises his real property to his sons Edward and Willoughby. The remainder of his estate is divided among his widow Argin (second wife Argent Haynes) and sons Moses, Frances, John and Lanke (Lancaster b. ca 1790 - my great great great grandfather) and daughters Sarah, Frances and Amea.Hillary Capps b. ca 1803-4 may be the youngest son, but he is not mentioned in Edward's will.
According to his grandson. Ira Morey Capps, Lancaster came from Virginia to Kentucky about 1810 by wagon train with three brothers and their families.Lancaster decided to locate in Warren County (now Edmonson County)and his brothers moved on with an indefinite destination. That was the last he ever knew of his brothers.
Does anyone know which brothers went west with Lancaster in 1810?They would show up in 1820 census unless they went far west.Do any of these names/ages sound familiar?Edward and Willoughby were born before 1780, and John and Moses were born between 1780 and 1790.Are there any descendants out there?
