I found an online reference to King Hiram Caplinger at the following address:

It shows John H. Caplinger (b. abt. 1779 in Hampshire or Hardy Co., WV) and Louisa (?) as the parents of both King Hiran Caplinger (b. abt. 1808 TN - d. 24 Feb 1863 VA) and Samuel Caplinger (b. bef. 1808). This reference shows the descendents of both sons of John H. Caplinger. I hope that this is of use to you!

If you have any information regarding the parents of Dr. John Caplinger (b. Feb. 1776 Rockingham Co., VA) I would love to hear from you!
