Children of William Keplinger & Magdalena Matilda Caplinger

I am trying to locate all of the children of William Keplinger (b. 1775-1789 Rockingham, VA) and Magdalena Matilda Caplinger (b. 1780 Rockingham, VA).

Known children to date:

1. Catherine Keplinger (b. ca. 1800, Rockingham Co., VA)
2. Anthony Keplinger (b. 1802, VA) <-- last born in VA

***family moves to OH >> eight year gap in children's birthdates***

3. Jacob Keplinger (b. 29 Jul 1810, Highland Co., OH) <first born in OH
4. George Keplinger (b. 30 Nov 1811, OH)
5. Leah Sarah Keplinger (b. 1822, OH) <-- Is she for real? Magdalena would be 42 at birth.

William was one of the first Keplingers/Caplingers to move to Highland County Ohio in the very early 1800s.

I have a John Caplinger (b. ca. 1803) who married a Eliz (unknown last name - born ca. 1803, OH) who I cannot locate parents for.

1850 Census in Concord, Highland Co., Ohio.
John Caplinger 47 M, Farmer
Eliz Caplinger 47 F
Daniel Caplinger 18 M, Laborer <-- My line
Martin Caplinger, 22 M
Barbara Caplinger, 17 F
John Caplinger 15, M
Madison C. Caplinger 13, M
Wesley Caplinger, 7 M

My grandmother said that we're related to Dr. John Caplinger and I have eliminated him and most of his brothers as possible fathers of my John by either their location (my John is born in OH according to census reports), the date of marriage (John is born about 1803, a few years before Dr. John, Anthony, Adam, or Abraham are married - so they are all excluded). George's daughter Betsy was born in VA, so he's excluded. Christian II and Magdalena's children are all born in VA, and they died in WV, so Christian can't be the father of my John.

This leaves William Keplinger, son of Dr. John.

Looking (above) at the years that William's children were born, and where: Anthony was the last child born in VA. Then there is a gap of EIGHT YEARS between Anthony and Jacob (Jacob being the first child born in OH).

I have to wonder if anyone has turned up a John as being a son of William Keplinger? Given birthrates of the time, there could easily be two children between Anthony and Jacob. I do see that John's last name is shown as Caplinger in the cenuses, but it wasn't uncommon to see spellings change as people migrated.

I would love to hear from anyone else researching this line.
