i have information from a chuck bennett that states james madison caplinger married louisa jane billingsly on aug. 25, 1901 in boone county, indiana.
the last known email address for chuck is chuben@ala.net.
my name is laura stecile caplinger-bair, born and raised in johnson county, indiana. rocklane (clark twp.) to be exact. my grandfather was carl luther caplinger and his father was orvle gideon caplinger. i believe we may be cousins (distant).
hope this info helps! if you find anything out, please let me know! my aunt had started her genealogy research many years ago. when she started on the caplinger side of things she got so far and was forced to stop because nothing was really matching up, so any info you have would be a tremendous help!
