i don't know if you are inquiring about the same caples family as mine but i do know that the origin came from germany from a man named Yawcob Kauple and when he immigrated from germany to the u.s. he adopted the name caple but two of his sons moved away and adopted the "s" on to caple making it caples. i have a complete geneology if you need any more information. this was the caples family related to the hathaways.
