We have spent some time researching the Capewell line in America but have not made a direct link to a specific family in England.

Like most families we are populated with many Georges and Johns but are not connected to George, the nail manufacturer in Connecticut. We grew up out of John Capewell immigrants from New York who migrated to New Jersey but have not connected the dots to a specific immigrant.

We know that at least one John Capewell was in New York around the late 1700's but he wound up going to Canada to avoid persecution during the war.

Rumors have it that we came from the potteries. Does anyone keep track or have any informaiton of those who crossed the pond in the late 18th or 19th century?
