I am seeking the parents of David Nelson Cantey (born about 1795 in Sumter SC) and his brother Jared Nelson Cantey (born about 1792 in Sumter SC). David and Jared were Overseers on the Robert Dow Plantations in the early 1800s. David may have married a Rembert, and Jared married Irene Wiggins. Either David or Jared had a son named JAMES NELSON CANTEY (born 1816 in SC) who moved to Benton, Lowndes County, Alabama where he died in 1881.
Does anyone have any information on this line, particularly the parents of David and Jared Nelson Cantey? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
