Canty's from Alabama

My Great-Grandmother Annie Rebecca "Canty" Giddings was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1870 she was full blooded Cherokee Indian, her father's name was John Canty and her mother's name is unknown. She married my Great-Grandfather Jim Giddings born in 1869, of African descent, they were married in Pike County in Goshen, Alabama in 1889. They had nine children and raised them in Texas. My maternal grandmother Alice "Giddings" Glenn was the youngest of them all. She was the last survivor of the siblings and parents. From my understanding my great-grandmother would not talk much, other than she was from Alabama there, she passed away in 1967-1968. I had originally started a search in 1997 but gave up because of not being able to find more. I've always wanted to know more of both my great grandparents history.
