Hi David

I can see the information now in 1891 Census. William Canty is showm as a Farm Bailiff aged 43 his wife is Hannah aged 41. On my poor copy I thought that 'Claire' was in fact 'Olive' but is a little difficult to read. I do no know if they are conected to my family but suggest they probably are. Have you been to Whitgift to look at the graves. Canty are buried in St Marys Church famous for it's 13 hour clock and being built in the 1300's. I urge you to go if you can and stay at the B&B just bejond the church. It belonged to the Canty family at one time. The next dor neighbour is a Canty as are a number in the village.

I hope this is useful, I will study your info further and contact you if I sopt anything else
