my grandmother's name was MARY E. CANTY. the only legal documents i have on her are her death and marriage cert. the death cert does not give parental information, nor dob. the marriage cert lists her parents as edward canty of britain and ella quinn of ireland. Mary's dob on her marriage license is listed as AUGUST 1900. pob is listed as philadelpha, however i cannot locate her birth cert in the archives (of course that doesn't mean it is not somewhere...). in addition, i haven't located the ed, ella, and mary family unit on either the pa or nj 1920 & 1910 censuses. i am wondering if perhaps mary e. canty ran away from home...
