I am a Cantú and also a Garcia from my Mom's side and I was born in Los Aldamas, Nuevo Leon. If you know us or want to know about us send me an email. Maybe we are related.
My family is from Los Aldamas, N.L. From Congregacion Zacatalitos. My father is Bernabe Cantú and my Mom Modesta G. Cantú. My grandfather's Name on my Dad's side is Donaciano Cantú, he died in El Valle de Texas not sure where, maybe in Edingburg, TX in the early 1900's. My Grandfather's father was Faustino. At this moment I don't know if Neopusemo was Faustino's father, but I think Neuposemo is as far back as my Tio Benicio (my father's oldest brother) could recall. If I can remember the history correctly, Neuposemo was given the land by a servant of a king from Spain in some distribution.
Donaciano's wife was Santos Garcia (Santos is used as a woman's name too) they had Benicio, Faustino, Jose, Domitila, Eulalia, Cruz, Bernabe, Daniel and Alicia not in this order. They all grew up in Zacatalitos, N.L. up to the late 1970's. As of today only Bernabe, Jose, Alicia, and Daniel survive. We are a large family of Cantu's mixed with many Garcia's, Lopez's, Salinas', Peńa's, Gonzalez', Cantú's .
On my Mom's side: My Grandfather was Jose Luz Garcia and my Grandmother was Julia Salinas. They had Teodoro, Felix, Jose, Maria, Jesusa, Felipa, Modesta, Luz (male) and Lupe (female), all Garcia's and also from Zacatalitos N.L.
