Hello Juan Manuel,

My great-grandfather, Eduardo Martínez Celis, lived in Monterrey, he was a journalist and a writer. He was a good friend of Jesús Cantú Leal, who was the founder of the Monterrey newspaper named "El Porvenir". A newspaper thet still exist. Does Jesús have any relation to Felipe Cantú Leal?

I found your posting because I myself am researching my Cantú roots. My great-grandfather was named Delfino Cantú Benavides, he was born in Los Herreras, Nuevo León around 1880. His father was Pilar Cantú and his mother was Sanjuana Benavides. Delfino married Josefina Avila Camacho and their daughter, Juana Cantú Avila, is my paternal grandmother.

Let me know if there's a link between our families.

Best Regards, David Martínez-Celis
