Hi Yonka, Lonzy was my favorite of all of Dads Brothers. He ran a little store that had been left to him by John Jr. When I was a kid we would walk down from grandmas house and visit with him. He was always good to us and always was telling stores. I use to ask him about his grandpa John, He called John Pa as he was raised by him from the time he was 4 years old. He said John came in to Grand Pa Eliges house picked him up and sat him on his shoulder, said Elige you and margret can have more, this one belongs to me. Lonzy never slept another nite in his dads house. John was a trucker of his day, he ran a 20 mule teem and hauled frieght out of Paintsville. He delivered to stores and farms along a route thru Johnson ,Morgan and Maggofon co. Lonzy road the wheel mule from the time he was a boy. That was the biggest of the mules and controled the other mules When lonzy was 96 I went to see him with two of my sons. He was down in the corn fied setting muskrat traps to keep them out of his corn. He was about 2 hundred feet away and I told my boys that he would not know me as I had not seen him for 10 years or more. He threw his hand up and yelled I am comeing wait ther. He walked up I said I am Don Monroes boy, He said lord god Don I knew you from down in the field. He said my Pa will never die as long as you live you are that much like him. I guess John was short and fat as that is what I am and I look more like Lonzy than I did My dad. I !ll hush for now I get to going on,but I did like Lonzy. I visited his grave last summer and shed a tear for him. I am 66 so that gives you an Ideal of him. He told me a lot of stores about John and Old John. Thanks for the answer Don
