Seeking information on William Bennett Scott SR.,born in Statesville N.C., came to Tennessee around 1847,married Maria Jones.When they cane to TN. they moved to Friendsville,and were helped by the Quakers. They had 1 son,
William B. Scott Jr. and 1 daughter Laura Ann,(married Hugh Lawson Cansler).
William SR. and William JR. started their own newspaper in 1865,(The colored Tennessean).
William,s wife Maria died in Feb.1882, he the Married Lucinda Henry 1n 1884. they had 1 son, John.
It was told that John moved to sweden at an early age, never to return.
If anyone has any information on John,s decendants,or knows if he moved back to Friendsville, please e-mail me.
also any information on William JR. decendants,or any information about where any of them may be buried.
There was also a Aunt Chloe Robinson in this family.
