I've heard that Cansler is derived from the Russian Kanzler - I cannot verify that. My roots end with my adoptive paternal grandfather, James Willis Cansler, Sr. He was a wealthy businessman in Memphis in the 1930s. He adopted my father. That's all I have now. Karen.
