Looking for info on Mary CANON b. 27 July 1815 in VA or East TN. Married James SMITH of Greene COunty TN on 20 June 1833. I have quite a bit of info on her children. MAry CANON SMITH is my paternal 3X Grandmother. The family relocted from Greene County TN to MO in 1854. They intitally went to Franklin County MO but soon scattered to the nearby counties of Gasconade, Warren and Montgomery.
Searching for info on her parents, siblings and beyond. Same goes for James SMITH. Her mother may have been Margaret CANON but not sure. Family Bible lists a MArgaret CANON who was at least 20 years older than Mary but does not ascribe margaret's relationahip to anybody. I am told that some of the family may have spelled the surname as "CANNON", with 2 "N"s. Any help would be appreciated. Would be happy to share what I have.
