Dr. Canon's daughter, Nettie, married grandfather, Joseph Holshouen Victery. They made their home at New willard, Tx. Dr. Canon's beautiful home still stands at Moscow. At least it was there a few years ago even tho in poor repair. Dr. Canon was a civil war Dr. Many doctors were used just for doctoring and nursing but Dr. Canon was also a leader. His leadership was attested to at the dedication of a Conferate monument at Livingston,Tx, by Judge Hill. Judge Hill said, "He fell at[at Mansfield], pierced by 3 Federal bullets but he cried out from the ground for his men to "charge". In all, he was wounded 5 times during the war.
I have a little more precise info on him and the civil war if anyone is interested.
I would like more info on his wife as well as him.
Ann
