I was organizing (finally) a bunch of photocopies (and pictures taken with my digital camera when the that I made when the library that I went to had a copier go sick) when I found one that reported an organizational meeting at College Hill, Lafayette Co., MS to plan starting a Presbyterian church there. It was held on 15 July 1837 and attending were my gggrandfather Alfred O. Canon, Thomas V. and Mary M. Canon, and Joseph A. Canon. Thomas and Joseph are not siblings of Alfred and his brother and sister who came with him and his father, John Canon, Jr., from Mecklenburg Co., NC to Marshall Co., MS.
The Canons in Mecklenburg Co., are, from my Canon family history notes, descended from brothers John Canon, Sr., James Canon, and Joseph Canon with a reported stop in MD on the way.
If anyone has any information on who Thomas and Joseph belong to, please help.
