I haven't heard of her, but my ggggrandfather John Canon, Jr. married Martha Scott "Polly" Moore said to be the daughter of Moses Harvey Moore and Ann Alexander. One of John Canon, Jr.'s sons was Moses Harvey Moore Canon. He moved to Marshall County with my gggrandfather Alfred O. Moore in about 1939-1840. John Canon, Sr. is the only PA Canon that I know of. He was born abt 1736 in Scotland. The people who moved to Mecklenburg Co., NC at the same time that he did were very fond of PA and called their Presbyterian the "Philadelphia" meeting house it's said. When Polly Moore died in 1839, John Canon, Jr. sold his land and trekked to MS with Alfred, Moses, and daughter Abigail Canon Alexander.

There were more Canons north of Marshall Co. in TN, but I haven't made any headway with them. I don't know if they were John and Polly's children or nieces and nephews. The Chickasaw Cession had just been opened to settlers and there was a big influx of people for the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia and even Tennessee.

They built a Pres. Church on land donated by Alfred and named it the Old Philadephia Presbyterian Church. It still stands and is use in Red Banks, MS. It is now named the Red Banks Pres. Church. It was moved brick-by-brick in about 1870.

It's possible that John. Sr. has a daughter named Betsy who went back to PA. She could have passed the Moses on to one of her brood. Moses Moore was a very prominent man.
