I will keep this in mind. Will get back to you if I can come up with some solid information. I still have living relatives back in Illinois, in Bureau County, who can help me. Also, I now know where two of the Canon/Cannon are buried in Bureau County so can get accurate dates, etc. I need to also follow up on Canon/Cannon in the Rock Island area--I know for sure, that 30 years ago there were r elatives in that area. Also, followup is needed in the area of Minnesota and Ohio; grandma Nora had a brother in Minnesota. If it is of interest to you, there is a area in northern ireland, on the west side, Connaught Bay (if I remember correct) and the village is called Connaught, and there are many Canon/Cannon in that area. I picked this information up from a documentary on the Discovery Chanel about a year ago. This raised questions in my mind as I have no idea where this branch of Canon/Cannon came from. Another thing, I accessed LaSalle County, IL records and LaSalle County was full of Canon/Cannon.
The link I used was: www.illinoisvalley online.com and then entered for LaSalle County. Also many irish in the LaSalle County records; might be worth checking out.
