They married 20 Feb 1865 in Polk Co., TX. I said 1867 in another post, but i had looked it up this time. My gg grandmother was the daughter of Elizabeth TAYLOR and Alfred PELT, m. 15 Oct 1857 in Polk Co., TX. Amanda Missouri PELT (my ancestor) was born in Polk Co. 12 Aug 1859 in Moscow, Polk, TX. The TAYLOR, STANDLEY/ STANLEY and PELT (nee VAN PELT) brothers Alfred and Durant came to TX in 1854 from Henry Co., AL and Jackson Co., FL for the PELT brothers. Elizabeth's parents were Jesse TAYLOR and Cynthia Ann "Kitsy Ann" STANLEY. Amanda Missouri PELT married first Andrew Lafayette BARNES, b. 1853 in Cherokee Co., TX, in Kaufman Co., TX on 03 Jun 1877. She married 2) Rev. S. W. HIGDON and died in Hamilton Co., TX. Kitty PELT married Henry S. BERRY in 1881 in a double wedding with Roseanna at the home of their sister Amanda Missouri. Amanda and Kitty are burried beside each other (according to what newly found BARNES relatives who live in the area tell me).
