Searching for Cano from Peru (tarapaca)

According to oral history I have an ansestor with the last name of Cano whom was a Spaniard. Cano had a son with Maria Vernal, a Peruvian woman, by the name of Fidel Vernal. Cano never married Maria Vernal therefore he did not give Fidel his last name. I am looking for anyone that may be related to this Cano or may have additional information.
