Ignacita's name was Dona Ignacia Cano. Her parents were Don Ignacio Cano & Dona Maria Quiros. They moved from Province of Galacia, NW Spain to Mexico when Ignacia was 13, and later moved to New Mexico. Ignacia married Benjamin Franklin Read in 1849. They had 3 children: Benjamin Maurice (Attorney and Historian, wrote the Illustrated History of New Mexico), Alexander (Attorney) and Larkin (christian brother and teacher). Ignacia's husband Benjamin died in 1854, and she later married my g-grandfather, Mateo Ortiz. They had 4 children: Luis (Attorney, Member House of Reps for NM, 1917, my g-father), Juan Francisco "Romolo" Ortiz (atty, Member of NM House 1932), Modesto, and Teodora. The Gonzales is on my father's side, and I have not been terribly successful tracing the tree beyond my g-father (Juan Ignacio Gonzales) and g-mother (Fernanda Rivera). All help would be appreciated
