I think that the parents of Eleanor Carolina Cannon (Elinor, Nelly, Nellie) were Richard Cannon and Elizabeth Cole. People who research the line of Eleanor Cannon and her husband, Abraham Tate, say that she was born 6 Feb 1812 in SC and died 12 Dec 1893 in Gordon Co., Georgia.
The following deed suggests strongly that Eleanor Carolina Cannon, who married Abraham Tate, was the daughter of Richard Cannon:
08 Feb 1831 Habersham Co., GA. Deed Book L, p. 162. Richard Cannon to Abraham Tate, both of Habersham Co., 60 ½ acres, 1/4th part of Lot 60, 2nd District, for $250.00, SW corner. Wit: Ezekiel McCravy, John Stephens. Recorded 21st Sep 1831?, J. T. Carter, C.S.C.
Richard Cannon was born c1755/1760 perhaps in VA and died 12 Jul 1831 in Habersham Co., GA. Elizabeth Cole was born about 1770 and died after 1850 in Gordon Co., GA. She was the daughter of John Cole and Mary Wood(?). Richard appears to have been the son of Simcock Cannon and Jane Rudd. Abraham Tate was the son of John Tate and Phoebe Callaway. I can supply further information on these people, if desired (Tate is not my line, however; Cannon is my line).
