I have seen two different maiden names for the wife of Russell E. Cannon (b c1797 Greenville District, SC; d 1860 Gordon Co., GA). Did he have two wives named Elizabeth? Does anyone know of documentation for his wife's being named Elizabeth Powell or Elizabeth Guest? There also is the possibility that Russell E. Cannon had a wife named Hulda Hoad or Hood (see my message #4452 on this board).
Russell E. Cannon was the son of Richard Cannon of South Carolina and Georgia (died in Habersham Co. in 1831) and Elizabeth Cole.
Some say that Richard had a daughter, Sabra, who married William Guest, brother of Elizabeth Guest.
