Descendants of Robert+Jane CANNING married Belfast 1862
Robert Canning and Jane Campbell were married at St Anne's Belfast on 14 Jan 1862. I know or believe the following about their children:
William Henry b Belfast/Ballymacarrett 1862; appears as a lithographic printer in 1881 Liverpool census
George b Liverpool 1864; appears in 1901 Liverpool census on board ship, single, Petty Officer First Class; family folklore has it that he later became a farmer in Saskatchewan and that his daughter returned to settle in Belfast
Catherine Roberta b Liverpool 1871; married William McCrum 20 Jan 1900 Belfast; appears in 1881 Liverpool Census in the Rice Lane [Walton] workhouse - parents both died in 1879
Elizabeth Rachel b Liverpool 1873; married John Henderson 26 Nov 1894 Belfast
John Campbell b Liverpool 1875; married Lily Griffiths 15 Dec 1904 Everton, Liverpool; appears in 1881 Liverpool census with his sister Catherine in the workhouse
I am descended from John Campbell Canning. I should like to hear from anyone who can fill out any of the above in respect of John's siblings.
You will also note that there is a gap between 1864 and 1871. Family folklore would have it that there was a Maggie and I even have a photo of what purports to be her; with less conviction folklore thought that there was both a William and a Henry, and/or that there might have been a Robert. Can you insert with conviction anyone in the 1864-71 gap?
