Hi Pamela:

The Cannings from Harbour Grace are not mine. My Cannings come from Nova Scotia. However, a family of Cannings moved from the Harbour Grace area to Springhill, NS where my Cannings were centralized. The coal mines in Springhill were a draw to many families.

I have found no connections between my NS Cannings and the NF Cannings. The family that moved to NS was headed by George Aspy [or Apey] Canning b circa 1870.

I have much on George's family after their arrival in NS, but not much before then.

Contact me if you think I might be able help you.

Eric Keys
