We have lost three Canning men, who would likely have been very active businessmen or in civic affairs in Australia. They were all sons of Marinus Francis "Alfred" Canning of NSW and WA, and Elizabeth Annie Morgan, sister of the Morgan Brothers who created Mount Morgan, Australia's richest gold mine.
MFA Canning was Member of Parliament of Western Australia, where he moved from Tasmania and Noumea in 1884. Earlier on the family lived in NSW. George would have been 11 years old in 1884, so probably accompanied the family to WA. But Arthur was then 23, and Edmund 18, so they may have stayed in Noumea, in Tasmania, or even in NSW, or perhaps moved on to other parts of the world, if they did not accompany the family to Perth. All three are known to have been alive in 1911, as they are listed on MFA's death certificate as surviving him. MFA's brothers were world travellers, as was he himself.
