I descend from Nancy Cannell, daughter of Philip and Jane. I have his birth about 1738 and death June 6, 1824. I believe his wife was Jane Sherlock, born April 25, 1742, Melen, Isle of Man. They were married at the Melen Parish Church January 8, 1763 and she died in 1826 in Standish, ME. According to the LDS Ancestral File, she was the daughter of William and Elinor (CLarke) Sherlock. Nancy and her husband, Joseph West, did name a daughter, Nancy, and a son, Thomas, so we're probably on the right track. I don't have Philip's parents, but there were several Philips born about the right time on the Isle of Man. If you are able to come up with an answer, I'd be glad to hear from you.
