Has anyone else come across the name of Cannell being changed to Kennell, especially in the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire areas? Although my grandmother was a Florrie Kennell, her younger sister Mary was christened Cannell, a name that we find earlier in the family at Felmersham, Beds. My theory is the broad way they speak in that region where Cannell is sounded like Kennell.
