Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can offer any information regarding some of my ancestors.
My GGG Grandfather was John Millegde Canaday. I have some conflicting information regarding him and his ancestors. The Mormon website lists his information as: b5/15/1827 Moniac, GA; d9/7/1895 Sanderson, FL.
Married to Sarah Ann Howell b 3/10/1837 Toledo, GA; d 6/2/1898 Sanderson, FL.
John Milledge Jr's father is listed as Sir John Milledge Canaday SR b 1778 Coleraine, IRELAND; d 1860 Moniac, GA. His Grandfather listed as Henry Canaday b 1752 Coleraine, IRELAND.
I have found some conflicting information on another website that says that John Millage Cannaday b 1796 in Barnwell District SC and that this family moved to Columbia Co Fl in the 1820's. I found this while searching for Civil War records to see if They possibly would have been in FL or GA infantries. I am not sure how that could be true either b/c John Milledge was buried in the North Prong Cemetary in Baker, FL. Is it possible that his father's family moved instead? Does anyone have any information on this family's involvement in the Civil War?
