Looking for ancestors of Obediah Cann who
in 1799 came from Southeastern Va. to
Nations Section of Abbeville, SC. One son
was, Jesse Wagner Cann, married third to
Lucinda McCurry probably of Abbeville
County, SC ( Nations Section). Original
Cann name may have been McCann. Possibly he is descended from a John Cann , native of
Bristol, England, who came to Massachusetts
ca. 1660/70 and married an Esther Read
of Boston, Mass.
