Follow-up to my last note. "Mrs" Cann (Mary) traveled from Nova Scotia to Boston, MA in 1848 with Maria age 8, George age 6, Jane age 4 and Edward age 2. The Boston passenger lists show "Country to which they were born "US". Yet she shows up two years later in MA as "Mary Cady" age 30, b. Nova Scotia, living with Henry Cady, age 28, b. IReland (occ: Seaman)with the following children on the 1850 Boston, MA Census: Edward Cann age 4 (b. ca. 1846 Nova Scotia Jane Cann age 5 (b. ca. 1845 Nova Scotia George Cann age 8 (b. ca. 1842 Nova Scotia Maria Cann age 9 (b. ca. 1841 Nova Scotia THOMAS CANN age 12 (b. ca. 1838 Nova Scotia John Cann age 15 (b. ca. 1835 Nova Scotia I could not find this Cann/Cady family in 1860 or 1870 US censuses, although they could have traveled back to Nova Scotia, except for THOMAS CANN b. ca. 1835 who married Parnella Wilkins in NYC. Is anyone out there searching their Canns from Nova Scotia and have you seen any connection to this Henry Cady? I am hoping to find descendants of the other Canns on this census - Jane, George, Maria and John. Thanks. Linda - NYC Notify Administrator about this message?
