Hello Brittney:

I was going to ask you why the lady did not give the CANN name to her child, then guess what - read what I wrote down below, but first check out what I just found in the TOMLINSON postings on this same site ! What do you think ?

Rev. Samuel Tomlinson, father of actress

Posted by Kerry - E-Mail: ttrout@prodigy.net - on July 03, 1999:

He was a preacher at the Lizton Christian Church, Hendricks Co., INdiana in the 1890s. He married Mary McGaughey and their daughter grew up to become Marjorie Main (actress in "Ma and Pa Kettle" movies and many others like "Meet Me In Saint Louis" with Judy Garland). Does anyone have further info or siblings for Marjorie?

and also under TOMLINSON:

Searching for birth family

Posted by Tammy Tuttolomondo - E-Mail: ttuttolomondo@hotmail.com - on March 31, 1999:

I am trying to find any Tomlinson's that live in the area of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I
believe that is the surname of my birth mother. I was born April 25,1973. I also have a brother born Thomas Tomlinson December 8
1971. I believe he was born at the Henderson Hospital in Hamilton Ontario. We were both given up for adoption. If anyone has any information, I would love a reply.

What I wrote to you at first was:

I live in Nova Scotia where we have lots of CANN and some TOMLINSON names. I think your best bet is to concentrate on the place names you already have.

Look at your Ontario map and find the area east-west between Niagara Falls and London, and north-south between Hamilton and Lake Erie. This is where you need to concentrate your search. Look up TOMLINSON names in the phone listings - www.canada411.com - and put in the names of the different cities (Niagara Falls, Port Colborne, Dunnville, Grimsby, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Caledonia, Waterford, Port Dover, Simcoe, Brantford, Tillsonburg, Paris, and Ingersoll - famous for cheese). It seems there are no TOMLINSON's left in Delhi itself, but try contacting the families in the nearby places.

Other sources of info are:

- www.Cyndislist.com - go to Canada's provinces and find Ontario. It gives you county by county cemeteries and the names in them.

Ontario - www.gov.on.ca - Govt of Ontario with births/deaths and vital statistics and lots of LINKS to other sites

- www.genealogypages.com - with lots of GEOCITIES sites
