My great-grandfather, John Delbert Cann, I am told was of French Canadian birth. I believe his father's name was Clay and his mother was Josephine Allen Cann. John D. Cann came to California, where he served as prison guard at Folsom Prison in Folsom, CA., and later as a constable, the postmaster and owned a saloon in Elk Grove, CA for some time before his death.
Any information you may have on this family would be greatly appreciated.
